Birtday: December 17, 1925 

1943: graduated from High School, and simultaneously studied at a film-acting studio. 

1943, shortly after graduation, Otar Koberidze was called to serve in the military service of the Soviet Union. Otar Koberidze took part in World War II and is a proud holder of various orders and medals for his merit in the liberation of Budapest, Bucharest, Prague, Vienna, and Berlin. 

1947, after the demobilization of his unit, Koberidze continued to study at Theatrical Institute and graduated from it in 1948. 

1941 Koberidze played in a film “Black Mountains” (director Nikoloz Shengelaia). Consequently, at the request of Nikoloz Shengelaia, he was then offered to continue working at the Film Studio, which was an unprecedented case at the time. 

In 1949-1955 Otar Koberidze worked at Sokhumi (Abkhazia) Theatre of Drama. 

Otar Koberidze is still member of the Film Studio staff ever since 1941. He is director of 7 feature films and 3 plays, and has performed in 80 movies. Otar Koberidze has headed up various charitable activities. He is Georgia’s Public Artist, as well as of one of Abkhazia. 
He is also a full-fledged member of the Academy of Caucasian People.
